3 Common Exfoliators to Leave Behind

Exfoliation is one of the very best things you can do for your skin. Unfortunately, some companies have created products that do more harm than good. Here are three we don’t approve of here at ViaBuff:

1. Apricot Scrub

The reason? Apricot granules tend to have rough, almost triangular, edges. When apricot scrub is applied roughly, it can actually rip or stretch the pores. For this reason, it is best to stick with scrubs with round or circular granules.

2. Pore Strips

The reason? Pore strips contain a hairspray-like substance on one side. It sticks to the material within your pores, but when you rip the strip off, it stretches the pore. Over time, this leads to enlarged pores, in which material collects, leaving you with a nose filled with blackheads. Best to stick with these methods for making your pores look smaller!

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

The reason? Though ACV is excellent for you to digest, it can reek havoc on your skin. Due to the slightly acidic pH of apple cider vinegar, it can disrupt skin’s delicate acid mantle, leaving you with dry, infection-prone skin. ACV also can leave the skin prone to bacterial infections if not diluted properly.
