Then, they focus on correcting those circumstances, effectively preventing the most at-risk children from ever experiencing the horrors of this trade.

The Gift of Childhood
Remember Nhu’s prevention method gives children in developing nations the most priceless gift — a childhood. They’ve protected the innocence of over 2,200 children, and currently provide shelter for families in 109 homes across 16 countries. These homes provide at-risk children with a supportive environment focused on meeting their physical, educational, emotional and spiritual needs. This not only protects kids from childhood slavery, but also drastically lowers their risk of entering into the sex trade in adulthood.

Meeting Needs
Meeting Physical Needs
When a child has little to no shelter or food, lacks basic medical care, they are at risk of being sold. Meeting a family’s basic needs lessens the need to sell into human trafficking. Sponsors provide our children clean drinking water, regular meals, clothes, physical exercise, and even medical care.
Meeting Emotional Needs
Children need the loving care of invested, responsible adults. Growing and nurturing children inside the love of a family protects them from human trafficking. Sponsored children are cared for by loving indigenous house parents or foster parents, and receive additional care from both local and international workers and interns.
Meeting Educational Needs
When honest, sustained work in a future career is an real possibility, making a quick buck in the human trafficking industry looks much less appealing. Quality education and practical vocational training gives children a hope for their future. Children at Remember Nhu homes go to the local public schools while interns teach them English and vocational skills. After they graduate, each child applies to college or one of several Vocational Training Centers.
Meeting Spiritual Needs
Children deprived of real, lasting hope are at risk. When introduced to the powerful love of Jesus Christ, children are introduced to a new and accurate vision of themselves: that they are of deep, intrinsic, and have eternal value. However, Remember Nhu and its partners are equally committed to and will never discriminate against or withhold care from a child of a different religion, worldview, or persuasion. They do not proselytize, but they do provide church services, Bible teaching, discipleship programs, and spiritual care for sponsored children.
