7 Great Stocking Stuffers

We at the ViaBuff office are still putting together our Christmastime shopping lists, but below we wanted to share seven essential products that we suggest you place in your friends’ and family’s stocking stuffers this year.

1. ViaBuff Body Exfoliator

prplShoulder

Although there are countless exfoliating loofahs, puffs, mittens, towels, and brushes available, few of them come close to matching the prowess of the ViaBuff Body Exfoliator. Our Body Exfoliators are made of an ultra-durable open-cell polyurethane that limits water retention, which in turn keeps your buff from becoming soggy and ineffective. Our buffs also limit absorption of the serums that you put on them, meaning that less of the product will seep into our buffs and more will be massaged into your skin. As an added bonus, our dermatologist-tested and cruelty-free buffs last for 90 days, which is three times longer than the lifespan of your average loofah or buff. However, many of our clients report that their buffs last for several more months when they are regularly shown a little TLC. Best of all, our buffs come in four strengths, so as to meet our clients’ skin needs: the purple Level 1 Exfoliating Buff is for those with psoriasis, acne-prone skin, or oily skin; the green Level 2 Exfoliating Buff is for those with normal or eczematous skin; the pink Level 3 Exfoliating Buff is for freshly-waxed skin, dry skin, or skin with ingrown hairs or keratosis pilaris; and the white Level 4 Exfoliating Buff is for exceptionally dry skin.

2. ViaBuff Facial MiniBuff

exfoliate oily skin

We designed our ViaBuff Body Exfoliator to offer robust yet gentle exfoliation to even the most calloused and hardened skin. However, we felt that the ViaBuff Body Exfoliator may have been a little too big to use on one’s face, especially if you were exfoliating small or angled areas. That’s why we designed the ViaBuff Facial MiniBuff, which offers all of the same benefits as the ViaBuff Body Exfoliator, but it miniature.

3. ViaBuff Handle

handle

There are certain parts of our bodies that we simply can’t reach, even with a good deal of stretching and hard effort. That’s why we designed the 19-inch ViaBuff Handle, which is suited for use with our Body Exfoliator, Facial MiniBuff and Medical Applicator and allows you to reach virtually every inch of your body.

4. ViaBuff Medical Applicator

ViaBuff Medical

Do you have limited mobility, and have trouble applying topical treatments to certain parts of your body? Then let ViaBuff help you out. Unlike our Exfoliating Buffs, the ViaBuff Medical Applicator does not exfoliate your skin; rather, when paired with the ViaBuff 19-inch handle, it allows you more easily apply topical therapies or lotions to those areas where you could not normally reach. Like our Exfoliating Buffs, the ViaBuff Medical Applicator is made of a durable open-cell polyurethane that prevents products from seeping into the crevices of the foam, meaning that more of the product can be gently massaged into your skin. Even if you do not have a mobility issue, our Medical Applicator is a good choice for those who need to apply oily, or unpleasantly-scented products to their body but who do not want their hands to become oily or smelly.

5. An exfoliating serum – containing salicylic acid, urea, glycolic acid, or lactic acid.

Salicylic-acid

Aside from loving to exfoliate, we at ViaBuff, love, love, love salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is one of the most potent keratolytic (exfoliating) ingredients in skincare, and a great choice if you are looking to improve your exfoliating routine (Clinics in Dermatology). Can’t find a product with salicylic acid that you like? Glycolic acid, lactic acid, and urea are great keratolytic ingredients as well, and can certainly help to slough away buildups of dead skin cells and debris ( Cynthia Bailey Skincare). 6. A wintertime moisturizer.

winter-skin

Kudos to you if you regularly moisturize during the wintertime. However, not all moisturizers are created equally. Those for the summer are typically lighter than moisturizers for the winter months and are no match for biting winter winds and months of dry indoor heating. When picking a wintertime moisturizer, you may want to pick a heavier oil-based formulation that makes extensive use of occlusive agents (such as stearic acid and beeswax), which form a protective layer of the skin, and humectants (such as honey, urea, and glycerin), which attract moisture from the environment into one’s skin and from the dermis to one’s epidermis (outer layer of skin). 7. A broad-spectrum sunscreen.

sunscreen

Admittedly, even we at the ViaBuff office are sometimes guilty of forgetting to apply sunscreen during the winter (especially on gloomy, blistery days). However, we cannot stress enough the importance of using a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Even if it is hidden behind clouds, the sun is still out in full force during the winter, so it is imperative that you use a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Broad-spectrum sunscreens are a great choice because they protect against both UVA and UVB rays, whereas SPF ratings are only an indicator of a sunscreen’s defense against UVB rays. So if a sunscreen isn’t listed as being broad-spectrum, then it is unlikely to provide significant defense against UVA rays. For the best defense, you should reapply your sunscreen every two hours (Skin Cancer Foundation, MayoClinic).

Bottom Line

Whether you are looking for some stocking stuffers or to put together a skincare-themed gift basket, ViaBuff has some great suggestions for you. We would suggest using our ViaBuff Body Exfoliator and Facial MiniBuff, which come in four different levels to match your skin’s needs and offer an abrasive yet gentle exfoliation. Our ViaBuff Handle allows you to exfoliate those hard-to-reach places, whereas our ViaBuff Medical Applicator allows you to apply serums to your skin without making your hands feel greasy or scented. Finally, to ensure the best skin health, make sure to an exfoliating serum containing salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid or urea; a heavy wintertime moisturizer; and a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Happy holidays!
